Russia has formed a black market antiretroviral drug which is also used as a possible therapy COVID-19. We are talking about the drug Kaletra (lopinavir+ritonavir) writes Reuters.
Currently worldwide there are over 20 clinical trials to assess the effectiveness of lopinavir+ritonavir in the treatment of coronavirus infection. National health system of many countries consider the combination drug as a potential therapy COVID-19, embraced the whole world.
Despite the lack of reliable evidence while appropriateness of Kaletra in the treatment of coronavirus in Russia has jumped its sales. At the beginning of March in Moscow was sold 60 packages of the drug, and two weeks later for 600. For January—February sales in ruble terms increased in comparison with the first two months of last year almost in eight times — with 370,7 thousand rubles to 2,9 mln.
The representative of one of the sites that sell antirotavirusnye drugs, told Reuters that earlier drug cost 900 rubles per pack, and sales were modest. “Now buy 100-700 packs of 3800 rubles. Basically, in order to sell at a higher price,” – said an unnamed source. According to the seller, to resell the medicine will be in the 7-8 thousand rubles a package.
