Maurizio SARRI: “It’s disappointing for the club. Juve do not have enough intensity”
Head coach of “Juventus” Maurizio Sarri disappointed with the result of the final of the Italian Cup against Napoli (0:0, pen. 2:4):
“It’s disappointing for the club, the guys and the fans, but at the moment we can’t do much more because we don’t have enough intensity.
We have not played a few players. I had to field an unusual lineup, because our physical fitness is not optimal. We kept the ball well, but lacks the sharpness to make it in dangerous moments.
We could not pass the defence. We have people that can normally do that very well. I don’t think we lack spirit, because we were fully concentrated for 90 minutes, and this can be done without the attitude.
I think the problem lies in the characteristics of the players. There are players who are accustomed to take on the role of leader, but at the moment it just didn’t work. It is unusual, largely unique to us, but it shows a lack of sharpness after such a long break.
Ronaldo? It is in the same form as the others, like Paulo Dibala and Douglas Costa, he was not enough shape to do what it does best”. I talked to players after the game. I was angry and disappointed as they are, therefore, in such moments it is best to remain silent. We’ll talk better tomorrow.”
