President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko at a meeting on 10 June stated that it will not allow a coup in the country. About it reports a press-service of the President of Belarus.
In particular, with the head of the CEC of Belarus Lidia Yermoshina Lukashenko discussed the organizational issues of the election campaign.
“Lydia, I want you all reported on what is happening, I’m monitoring the situation. CEC and around and around you what is going on… I can see it. Most importantly, you do not worry. At the right time in the right place we bring all to life. The coup in the country. Maidan – the more,” – said Lukashenko.
He also instructed the CEC to provide the necessary support to prepare for the elections of the President of Belarus.
“Moreover, this should be done carefully, so that neither we nor Lydia Mikhailovna not criticized is that it uses some kind of administrative resource and the resource of the President, is also a possible candidate for the presidency,” – said Lukashenko.
The presidential elections in Belarus will be held on 9 August 2020.
Representatives of some political forces believe that holding elections during a pandemic coronavirus “irresponsible and dangerous”, so refused the nomination of their candidates.
Alexander Lukashenko became President of Belarus in 1994. 1 March 2019, he said that he intends to run for another term.
