Lithuania is considering the possibility of easing of the quarantine measures imposed because of the pandemic coronavirus infection. This was stated by President Gitanas Nausea during a meeting with the Prime Minister, Saulius Squareloop, reports the official website of the head of the Lithuanian state.
He stressed that the government should develop possible options to mitigate quarantine “taking into account the recommendations of scientists and doctors.”
“It is very important not to make a fatal mistake and lift the restrictions too soon. We can facilitate quarantine conditions by developing a clear security plan in various business sectors and estimating the potential threat of infection. It is equally important to ensure protection of persons from risk groups”, – he said.
At a press conference after a meeting with Prime Minister Nausea said that the partial easing of restrictions possible after Easter.
“Even if after Easter will be a decision to soften the quarantine, it will be done selectively, depending on the specific industry, taking into account threats and providing necessary means of safety. I’m talking about the service sector. I think that not in all cases possible to reduce the risk to a minimum. It is best to day X, when a little will soften the requirements, announced not by politicians but by competent doctors, who are trusted by society”, – quotes the President Agency Delfi.
Thus on Easter, quarantine measures will be tightened, said Prime Minister Svirnelis. In particular, it will be restricted in all cities of the country to “stop unnecessary travel from city to city.”
