Not all the pilots of Formula 1 have agreed before the start of the season to take a knee in support of the campaign Black Lives Matter. Racer Mercedes Lewis Hamilton, who is an active member of the struggle, urged colleagues not to retreat into the shadows.
“I’m not forcing anyone to do it. I talked to those pilots who did not want to stand on one knee. Some may not understand what a positive impact. Someone who does not support Black Lives Matter, but supports the fight against racism. For me there is no difference”.
“Not everyone needs to become a knee, but I want to see all of us in f-1 fought against racism. It’s nice that the head of the f-1 Chase Carey has donated one million dollars to Fund the fight. This was done by the FIA”.
“But we must continue to fight and talk about the problem. For me it’s important that Mercedes repainted the car black,” said Hamilton.
