Prime Minister Boris Johnson admitted that at the initial stage of the epidemic coronavirus his government underestimated the threat of an outbreak. He said this in an interview with the BBC.

In particular, the Prime Minister said that the government misjudged the extent of asymptomatic infection.

At the same time, he did not agree with the assertion that the quarantine in the UK was introduced too late and that this has led to additional victims. Johnson assured that the government has “learned lessons” and now the Ministers responded to the threat differently.

According to the head of the British government, the effectiveness of measures to combat the epidemic of the coronavirus yet to be assessed.
