Japan confirmed the death of a Ukrainian who disappeared while climbing mount Fuji
Examination of the body of a man found on mount Fuji in Japan, confirmed that the victim is an athlete from Ukraine Alexey Borisenko. This is with reference to the police Fujiyoshida announced June 18 edition of the Sankei Shimbun.
The police said that on March 7, they contacted the Ukrainian diplomats, informing about the disappearance of Ukrainian, and then began his search.
The body was discovered on the hillside on may 12, followed his or her identity. Examination confirmed that the victim was a Ukrainian Borisenko.
Law enforcement authorities of Japan explained that the Ukrainian, according to reports, went to the mountain alone and “got in trouble”.
37-year-old Borisenko flew to Japan to participate in the marathon, but it was cancelled because of the epidemic of the coronavirus. The connection with him was lost on February 28.
