The suspension of the season in Spain and the need to play behind closed doors until the end of December mean huge losses for Spanish clubs because of the pandemic coronavirus.
The La Liga giants, Barcelona and real Madrid, will lose 300 to 400 million euros. According to preliminary calculations of the League, only behind closed ticket office top clubs will lose up to December, more than 50 million euros.
If the incomplete script of the current season will be added during the next season without spectators, the total fall of income for Spanish football will reach 1.6 billion euros without taking into account potential losses of funding from sponsors, or 1.9 billion euros to their account.
In this situation, some of the Spanish clubs won’t be able to finish the season and play behind closed doors next.
