The incident occurred during a makeshift commemorative events on the occasion of the discovery of the body of the deceased local resident. Dominic James went missing on may 2 and was found by police on may 8 in the car in the woods dead.

The police officer Bogalusa Troy Tervalon told the news Agency that people remembered James in a vacant lot and opened fire from a passing car. According to the officer, the witnesses are unable to describe the shooter.

One of 13 wounded is in critical condition.

Just the memorial was attended by about 150 people who were mostly friends of the deceased.

The cause of the shooting by the police was not called.

Tervalon explained that James ‘ death is being investigated as a murder. Details of the investigation he did not disclose.
