The Committee on armed services United States Senate supported the amendment in a draft defense budget on renaming military bases, which are the names of the leaders of the Confederate army. As announced on 11 June edition of The Hill, the Committee, led by Republicans, supported an amendment proposed by Democrat Elizabeth Warren.
It is assumed that the rename database will be for three years.
The US President on Twitter criticized the decision, saying that “these monumental and powerful base became part of the great American heritage, history, victories and freedom.”
“My administration will not even consider renaming these beautiful military fortifications. Respect our army!” – trump wrote in the evening of 10 June.
