In Prague began the trial of living in the Czech Republic a citizen of Belarus Alexey Fadeev, suspected of involvement in the fighting in the Donbass on the side of Pro-Russian militants. About it on July 27, reported the newspaper iDNES.cz.
According to the indictment, Fadeev participated in the conflict from October 2014 to may 2016, “with the intention to actively support separatist groups in Eastern Ukraine who seek to secede from Ukraine and create an independent state formation – the so-called “DNR”.
According to the prosecution, Fadeev had a gun and participated in various “military missions” armed groups “DNR”.
“In addition to the patrols the defendant actively participated in the fighting against the Ukrainian troops defending the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine”, – said in the indictment.
Fadeev denies the accusations, claiming that only shot on the range. He stated that he was not engaged in terrorist activities, but only wanted to help “defend against the Ukrainian fascists.”
The publication notes that Czech legislation provides for punishment of imprisonment for a term of 12 to 20 years for involvement in terrorist activities.
