Poland plans to develop rules that limit the concentration of foreign mass media. This was stated by the head of the ruling party “law and justice” Jaroslaw Kaczynski, notes Reuters.
“Law and justice” has already said that foreign media interfered in the Affairs of Poland and the need to strengthen the position of Polish media.
The Kaczynski said that the reform in relation to media scheduled to be held before the expiry of the current diet, the next election which is scheduled for 2023.
However, the party has complained that any new law must conform to EU rules that could prevent the political targets to significantly reduce the influence of foreign companies, such as broadcaster Discovery, which belongs to the Polish television channel TVN.
