In particular, in the supermarket called Polish carrots, which were imported from Belgium and the Netherlands, the Ukrainian greenhouse cucumbers and cabbage from France.
Now the company Jeronimo Martins Polska, which distributes products and whose subsidiary is a chain of supermarkets Biedronce, can be fined 10% of annual turnover.
The Department noted that these fake markings can be associated with the fashion for a Polish manufacturer. In particular, it is noted that according to a survey conducted in 2016, 73% of poles would prefer to buy products made at home.
Also, according to the survey, the country of origin most important in the food choice – 76% of respondents indicated that they would prefer to choose a Polish product, and not foreign.
