28 June Poland held the first round of presidential elections. It is reported Polsatnews.pl.
Polling stations opened at 7.00 am. The voting will last until 21.00. On sites need to be individually masked, the newspaper notes.
In accordance with amendments to the electoral legislation, citizens will be able to vote traditionally, in person, but by mail.
The presidential candidates was 11 people.
August 6 completes the term of office of Duda. In order not to violate the Constitution of the country, the first round of elections should be held no later than June 28.
In the presidential election, the turnout does not affect the result of the vote. The winner is the one who receives more than 50% of all valid votes. If none of the participants does not reach this result, two weeks later a second round of voting in which participate the two candidates with the highest number of votes in the first round. The winner is the one who gains the most votes.
