In Moscow will hold a mass screening for COVID-19
The mayor of Moscow Sergey Sobyanin announced the holding in the capital of the study of population immunity to coronavirus infection. Screening for the presence of antibodies to COVID-19 will host more than 200 thousand residents a day. Mass screening program will be launched may 15, 2020, was announced by the mayor in his blog.
Testing will be carried out with the ELISA method (enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay), which allows to detect the presence or absence in the blood of the patient IgM antibodies (a marker for the presence of coronavirus infection) and IgG (a marker of immunity to coronavirus infection). For testing, the city government has installed automatic blood analyzers. By the end of may the total capacity of the urban system ELISA testing will exceed 200 thousand analyses per day.
Every few days approximately 70 thousand Muscovites will receive an invitation to a free delivery of the analysis. The taking of blood for testing will be carried out in 30 adult clinics (average 3 in each administrative district). Every clinic will open 2 treatment rooms.
The selection of residents will be carried out randomly in accordance with the age structure of the population of Moscow, and given the district of residence and invitation to be sent by e-mail or sms.
Residents of Moscow, after the ELISA test, will receive information about your own immune status. Be taken, if needed clarifying, the PCR tests, diagnosed and treated.
