Basmanny court of Moscow arrested businessman Jambul Janashia, a suspect of involvement in the murder of one of the most influential in post-Soviet times thieves in the law Vyacheslav Ivankov (jap) committed in 2009. About it may 7, reported the Russian newspaper “Kommersant”.
Janashia is accused of complicity in murder and illegal arms trafficking. According to the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation, the suspect was “an active accomplice” to the murder of jap, however, notes “Kommersant”, his role in the crime of insurance does not disclose.
The attempt on Ivankov was committed in July 2009, he was fired from a sniper rifle at the exit of the Moscow restaurant “the Thai elephant”. After receiving a severe wound in the abdomen, jap died 2.5 months later, on 9 October 2009.
“Kommersant” notes that for a long time suspects in the case were not. Only in February 2020 was arrested a native of Abkhazia Murtazi Sudania: according to investigators, he bought and brought to Moscow Dragunov sniper rifle, which wounded jap. In the same month were arrested Kakha Gazzaev, who allegedly handed rifle shooter. The consequence considers as the organizer of the assassination of another kingpin Ilya Simony nicknamed macho.
