Today in the capital of Kazakhstan Nur Sultan opened the monument to the first President of the country Nursultan Nazarbayev. About it reports a site of the government of the country.
The monument was installed at the National defense University to the 80th anniversary of Nazarbayev.
At the opening ceremony of the monument to the President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev has called his predecessor, the founder of modern Kazakhstan, “which defined the strategic development of our independent state and rallied the people to achieve a common goal”.
“Peace and stability, prosperity and unity is a result of the wise policy of the President. In history every state has unique personality who left an indelible mark. The duty of the younger generation to appreciate and respect their achievements”, – said Tokayev.
Nazarbayev has been President of Kazakhstan for almost 30 years. He led the country from 1990 to 2019. The politician is setting a record for staying in power in the former Soviet Union.
On June 18 it became known that Nazarbayev had contracted the coronavirus. On 2 July reported that the politician had recovered.
