Former world Boxing champion in Middleweight, and Felix Sturm, the district court in Cologne, Germany, was sentenced to three years in prison. On 30 April, reported Bild.
41-year-old Storm was found guilty of tax evasion amounting to more than €1 million, the anti-doping rule violation and willfully caused harm to his opponent.
In the trial judges reviewed the fight the athlete against the Russian boxer Fedor Chudinov in February 2016 (the fight on points was won by Germany) and came to the conclusion that Chudinov “experienced a real pain.” After the battle, the Assault trial for doping gave a positive result.
The publication notes that the Storm, which was at liberty after his release from custody several months ago, hoping for a suspended sentence in the process.
The storm became the world champion under version WBO in September 2003 after a bout with Argentine Hector Velasco (win split decision). In December he defended his title in a battle with Spaniard Ruben Varon. In June 2004, lost the title to multiple world champion in several weight categories, American Oscar De La Hoya.
