In the German city of Gelsenkirchen, a monument to the leader of the Russian revolution of 1917 Vladimir Ulyanov (Lenin). About June 20 he told radio Deutschlandfunk Kultur.
Statue with a height more than two meters appeared in front of the Federal headquarters of the Marxist-Leninist party of Germany (mlpg).
The publication notes that the monument is located almost in the center of the city.
The appearance of a statue of Lenin was accompanied by the courts. The city authorities tried to ban the appearance of the monument, however, the Supreme administrative court took the side of those wishing to install it.
Gelsenkirchen is an industrial center in the Ruhr area of Germany with a population of about 260 thousand people.
