Monday, 20 April, in Belarusian schools resumed classes despite the epidemic coronavirus infection. As reported by the Agency BelTA a press-the Secretary of the Ministry of education of Belarus Lyudmila Vysotskaya, for classes out of 30-40% of the students.
“As expected, 30-40% of students came to classes at school. In rural areas, where the epidemiological situation is calm, this percentage is even greater,” she said.
According to Vysotskaya, students should respect the social distance, to exclude handshake and minimize contact, in school canteens, toilets and common areas must be sanitizer. “Parents and teachers should monitor how these requirements are enforced,” said the official.
However, added the press-Secretary of the Ministry, a mandatory mask mode in educational institutions were not introduced.
According to data from the American Johns Hopkins University in Belarus at the moment 6264 confirmed cases of infection with coronavirus, 51 people died.
On 19 April President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko has declared, that considers inefficient strict quarantine measures, so he said, “Belarus has decided not to change dramatically the way of life.”
