In Belarus reported the mass arrests of independent observers at polling stations
In Belarus, 5 August, completed the second day of early voting in the presidential election. At the polling stations, the police massively detained independent monitors because they allegedly hindered the work of the commissions. This is stated in the report of the campaign “human rights Defenders for free elections”.
In Minsk detained the observer Inna Dabratvor.
“Without explanation she was not allowed to enter the premises of the school where the polling station where she was an accredited observer. When she rebelled, it caused militia for alleged interference in the work of the Commission. The police took her to the Zavodskoy ROVD for drawing up of the Protocol,” the report says.
Police officers in Minsk detained the observer Natalia Mankovska at 35 polling station of the Moscow district.
“She was taken to the Moscow police Department for a “preventive conversation”. After some time, the observer was released without a report,” – said in the campaign.
In Bobruisk observer Vladimir Michelau was given 10 days of administrative arrest.
The report says that several observers detained in Vitebsk, Grodno, Gomel, Soligorsk, Mogilev and Check.
Observers are not allowed to enter buildings where polling stations are located, said in the video campaign “the Right choice – 2020”. The 42 observers from the “choice of Law” who managed to get to the parts August 4, interfered and took out the warnings without any reason.
According to the campaign, the first day of early voting, August 4, was delayed by at least three observers. In Minsk the police detained the observers of Ivan Dubovik and Oleg Girgensons. Andrew Zastrelov from Mogilev, representing the initiative “Honest people”, police are investigating at the request of the Chairman of the electoral Commission of “obstructing the work of the Commission.”
