In Belarus from participation in presidential elections declined four candidates
The head of the movement “For Freedom” Yury Hubarevich, applying for the post of the President of Belarus has declared that withdraws the candidacy, writes about this TUT.BY June 19.
The politician noted that he had not planned to gather 100 thousand signatures for his nomination as a presidential candidate, and was going to use the opportunity to hold pickets in Minsk.
“Since the beginning of the presidential election campaign, the authorities began to act arrogantly, rudely and brutally. Repression grew with each week. There are no remnants of legitimacy,” – said Hubarevich.
According to “Interfax”, with the presidential race in Belarus has already filmed four candidates. Informed refusal of presidential ambitions, said the leader of the liberal democratic party Oleg Gaidukevich, Deputy Chairman of Association of carriers “Region 8” Natalia Kissel and rock musician Alexander Tabolich.
In Belarus is scheduled for August 9th inivory President. June 19 is the deadline to collect signatures candidates for the highest office. Alexander Lukashenko, who heads Belarus since 1994, intends to run for another term.
The Agency “Interfax-West” with reference to data of the Central election Commission of Belarus announced that as of June 18, the required number of signatures (not less than 100 thousand) handed Lukashenko and Babariko.
On June 18 in Minsk held a protest against the persecution of opposition politicians – the citizens formed a human chain and stood there for more than six hours.
