Thanks to the partnership group STEM-Moon Mark and space company Intuitive Machines, NASA signed a contract for delivery of a payload on the moon in 2021 (including two of the Rover), there can be the first in the history of the lunar race.
Currently, the Moon Mark is collecting applications from teams of up to six people from among upper-form pupils. The objective of each team is to develop the project own lunar Rover. The winner will receive a prize of $ 1,000. The money will then be donated to select one of the charities which will be able to provide building and sending a Rover to the moon.
The weight of the Rover must not exceed 5 kg. However, it is likely he will weigh in the range of 1.6 lbs. it consists of a standardized battery module, power management, solar panel, UHF radio, antenna, wifi module and single Board computer that will control the device. All components were selected Moon Mark as the most suitable for the harsh lunar conditions at a temperature from 173 to +126 °C.
Each team is entitled to propose its own solution, but in compliance with the basic requirements of the Moon Mark is to give the Rover the ability to move quickly. For the races selected in the area of the largest lunar mountain crack Wallis Criteri clearly visible from Earth through a telescope.
Moon Mark reported that the results of races will be evaluated on the following parameters of equal importance:
- as team members coped with the difficulties of remote development in the context of the epidemic COVID-19;

- creativity of design and the ability to attract the attention of other people;
- how entrepreneurial is the solution.
Applications for participation in competition are accepted until may 22.
