GitHub put the files all repositories in the vault doomsday

According to the GitHub blog, over the past few months, his partner for archiving, the company Pigl (Norway), recorded on a special wear resistant film coating of iron oxide data volume of 20 TB of repository 186 coils.

In addition to repositories, GitHub has immortalized a number of classic works of humanity and introductory letter in the event of storage by our distant descendants, after a nuclear Apocalypse or other global catastrophe.

GitHub has several plans for saving arrays of data. The project collaborates with the Internet archive to create current backups of GitHub via the Wayback Machine.
