The head of the Global Alliance for vaccines and immunization (GAVI) Seth Berkley said that the first confirmation of the effectiveness of a potential vaccine against coronavirus may appear only in the fall. He stressed that it is unknown what development will be successful and will do to create a working drug.
“If we’re lucky, we fall, we get indicators of the effectiveness of potential vaccines. But after that will have a long way to go before the release of approved vaccines on the market in large numbers”, – quotes Reuters the words of Berkeley.
The head of the GAVI highlighted the need for international cooperation in immunization. “States have to cooperate and share with each other vaccines,” said Berkeley. He added that perhaps some drugs will be more effective for immunization of young people, others for the elderly.
