GATI: “Maybe Ferguson will strangle me if I don’t knock him out early”
Top UFC fighter Justin Gati, which will replace Habib Nurmagomedov at UFC 249, spoke about the fight against Tony Ferguson.
The fighters will contest the WBC interim champion in the lightweight division.
“In a duel with Ferguson, in this situation, a lot of suspense. But I know against whom I’m fighting. Tony was preparing to Habib, was preparing to fight for the title. I have to face your fears and do what is necessary.
I never stepped into the fight on short notice, but the UFC title I never had. I worked from the beginning. I’m willing to take the risk. On the other hand, what happens if I lose? I’ll be in the same place as now.
Ferguson never tires, he’s got crazy cardio, and I beat powerfully. When I hit him, he went to sleep. If I fail to kill it, then get a cut from elbows. Perhaps he will strangle me in the end if I don’t send him to bed early. I am ready to accept any scenario. The main thing — not to disappoint myself and my family,” said Gati.
Earlier it became known to all the participants of UFC 249.
