Former Deputy Director of the Central intelligence Agency Jack devine believes it is unlikely the theory that the coronavirus SARS-CoV-2, to provoke a pandemic COVID-19 was created by man. He stated this in an interview LB.ua.
“My gut says that the virus was not man-made. So I’ll stick this point, until someone can provide more accurate data. […] March 17 was conducted credible research, with the participation of Colombian, Sydney, Edinburgh national University and SCRIPPS institution of Oceanography in California. Their employees are very carefully studied the question of the origin of the novel coronavirus and unanimously came to the conclusion that he was not created by man. I respect the activities of these institutions, their mission and reputation,” he said.
Devine noted that “most major countries, including of course Russia, China and the United States, there is the potential for the spread of viruses, which is probably much more deadly than COVID-19”.
“But we’re not doing this for the same reason that we have not had a nuclear exchange. Because the latter would lead to mutual destruction. I know that there are conspiratorial groups and conspiracy theories, but in the laboratory, there are already things that are much more deadly, and they can be released. But for any country is suicidal to participate in such a war. Therefore, I am not a big advocate of such conspiracy theories”, he concluded.
Flash coronavirus infection COVID-19 began in December 2019 in China. March 11, 2020, the world health organization declared the spread of the coronavirus pandemic.
Rumors about the laboratory origin of SARS-CoV-2, and based on this conspiracy theory arose at the beginning of the pandemic. According to the U.S. Department of state, in social networks of thousands connected with Russia accounts were published “virtually identical messages” that the coronavirus is the biological weapon was created by the CIA as a means of waging economic war with China.
In mid-March, an international group of scientists on the basis of comparison of the genome of the coronavirus SARS-CoV-2 and other six known coronaviruses, striking the man, came to the unequivocal conclusion that SARS-CoV-2 “is not a laboratory design or a deliberately cultivated virus”.
On 16 April, the TV channel Fox News, citing several sources familiar with the decisions of the authorities of China and had seen the relevant documents, reported that “patient zero” was a member of Wuhan Virology laboratory.
Documents seen by the interlocutors Fox News, describe in detail how doctors in the lab trying to contain the spread of the virus in the early stages. While channel sources claim that the Wuhan market animals and seafood “huanan”, which is called the possible source of the virus, never sold bats, and suggest that Chinese authorities are specifically came up with this version in order to divert suspicion from the lab.
The US President Donald trump said that the United States “will examine this terrible situation,” and Beijing has threatened “serious consequences”.
The foreign Ministry of China declared that the version about the leak of a coronavirus from laboratory of Wuhan has no evidence.
