The company Facebook Inc. will soon begin notifying users about inaccurate information regarding coronavirus Covid-19. About it said on the website of the company.
“We’re going to start to show messages in the news feed of people who liked, reacted to or commented on false or dangerous disinformation about COVID-19, which the social network was removed. We want to connect people who could interact with malicious misinformation about the virus, with the truth from reputable sources in case they see or hear these statements from Facebook. People will start to see these messages in the coming weeks,” – said in Facebook.
The company also said that in March, the social network has issued warnings about 40 million posts in Facebook related COVID-19. They checked on the basis of about 4 thousand articles, independent associate for verification of facts.
In Facebook said that when people saw the warning signs in the social network, in 95% of cases they did not go to view the source content.
In addition, the social network has deleted hundreds of thousands of false messages that could cause imminent physical harm as, for example, claim that drinking bleach cures the virus, or that physical distancing is ineffective in preventing the spread of the disease.
