The Russian Embassy in Prague sent the Czech foreign Ministry a note after the article in the Czech newspaper Respekt of a possible attempt of the Russian authorities to poison two Czech politicians. About this foreign Ministry announced in Facebook on April 27.
April 26, Respekt published an investigationwhere it was alleged that three weeks ago in Prague arrived the employee of the Russian special services with a diplomatic passport, which with me could be the poison ricin to poison a number of Czech officials, including the mayor of the Czech capital Zdenek Griba and the head of administration of the 6th district of Prague ondřej Kolář.
“The Russian Embassy in the Czech Republic categorically rejects such scandalous and false insinuations. Contained in the publication fantasies have absolutely no basis”, – said in a statement.
According to Russian diplomats, the publication is a continuation of the information campaign directed on discredit of the Russian Federation and “imposing its hostile image of the Czech public”.
“Such primitive provocative propaganda techniques that are contrary to basic journalistic ethics, cannot cause anything but disgust. Expected that these shameful publication will be given in the Czech Republic appropriate assessment”, – said at the Embassy.
