Former goalkeeper of “Chelsea” and England’s Peter Bonetti died at the age of 78 years after a long illness.
Bonetti was considered a superstar of the 1960s and 1970s years and one of the greatest players of the club from London. He was claimed for England to win the world title in 1966, but did not leave the field in this tournament. Bonetti only played 7 matches for England.
The goalkeeper has played 729 games for Chelsea. Bonetti also played a little for us “St. Louis Stars”, Scottish “Dundee United” and the English “walking”. His career lasted more than 25 years (1960 and 1986).
Only the former captain of Chelsea Ron Harris played for the more “blue” and Bonetti held the record for dry matches until January 2014, when it surpassed the famous Petr Cech.
