Head of Matchroom Boxing Eddie Hearn announced that his client, a world champion in the heavyweight WBA, WBO, IBF, IBO Anthony Joshua (23-1, 21 KO’s), reached agreement on two fights against the WBC belt holder Tyson fury (30-0-1, 21 KO).
According to the promoter, the talks about the unification of the titles already in process at the moment considering the initial conditions for the upcoming matches.
“We have achieved great success in negotiations, but we still have much to overcome. Now we analyze possible locations and dates.
Also, do not forget that we have a mandatory bidder, Dillian white that you want to protect before the battle with fury.
At the moment it can be argued that Joshua and fury has previously consented to financial terms. This is a major positive news.
With regard to timing, the first fight could take place next summer. It will be 2021.
