Defense Ministry launches clinical study of a vaccine against coronavirus
In the coming days, the Russian defense Ministry in cooperation with the National research centre of epidemiology and Microbiology named after N. F.Gamalei will begin testing a vaccine against coronavirus on volunteers. About it reports RBC.
The defense Ministry explained that in the coming days after two-week isolation will be vaccinated first group of volunteers whose main purpose is to study the safety and tolerability of the vaccine components. The results of the study on the first group of scientists will conduct a sequential vaccination components of the drug the rest of the volunteers to assess the effectiveness of vaccines and the study of the process of antibody production.
The trial included both military and civilians. Quantitative and qualitative parameters of the sample of volunteers agreed on the Ministry of health. In total, the trial included 50 volunteers, in addition to civilians, so that soldiers under contract ranging in age from 25 to 50 years, among them five women. In early June, all the volunteers sent two weeks in isolation to avoid the risk of infection by coronavirus.
