Belarusian opposition politician and presidential candidate Svetlana Tihanovsky at the second attempt to answer the question, whose Crimea. She said this in an interview to Euroradio.
“I have this problem I can answer from the point of view of man, woman against any kind of wars. And I am very hurt by the fact that in Ukraine there was a war, and thus moved from one side to the other. This is a very sensitive issue, and this issue divides people Bang their heads when they start to discuss it. Can I just say so, as they say in our country, as is customary under international law? Legally the Ukrainian Crimea, are actually Russian. And do not torture me more,” she said.
The first time the same question Tikhanovski asked during an interview with “Medusa”. Then she refused to answer, stating that “the issue about Crimea divides society”.
Russia annexed Crimea after the illegal referendum on 16 March 2014. The annexation of Crimea by Russia is not recognised by Ukraine and most countries of the world. In the moment between mainland Ukraine and the Crimea there is an access control regime, and Kiev de facto controls the Peninsula.
