Former Vice-President of the USA Joe Biden, the only remaining contender for the nomination of the presidential candidate of the Democratic party, is ahead of incumbent President Donald trump by 11 percentage points, according to a survey commissioned by CNN.
According to the findings, Biden the whole country supports 53% of voters, trump’s 42%. At the same time, the channel says, the advantage in the number of voters does not necessarily mean that Biden will be able to support the required number of electors, and hence win the election. For example, in 2016, trump got less votes, but winning in key States provided him with the necessary number of electors.
In accordance with the results of the survey, respondents have more trust Biden in combating coronavirus (support depending on the region makes up 52%), health (up to 57%) and helping middle-class (up to 57%).
While respondents trust Trump economic issues. So, 50% of respondents believe that the current President is better at handling the economy. Biden in this matter is trusted by 46% of respondents.
A telephone survey was conducted by SSRS for TV channel CNN from 3rd to 6th of April 1002 among adult respondents. The sampling error is about 3.7%.
The United States presidential election will be held in November 2020. The main struggle will unfold between Joe Biden, who was the only candidate for the nomination of the Democratic party of the United States, and Donald trump, who represents the Republican party.
