The flow of gas from Bulgaria to Greece was suspended because of the accident on the pipeline in the area of gas metering station “Kulata”. About it on July 27, reports the press service of “Bulgartransgaz”.
“The accident caused the violation of the integrity of the pipeline is 200 metres from crane “Kulata”. The section is isolated, and has taken all necessary measures for carrying out emergency repairs and the renewal of transport natural gas to Greece,” – said in the message.
As a result of accident nobody suffered, the company said.
Prime Minister of Bulgaria Boyko Borisov announcedthat the probable cause of the accident was the worn out pipes.
According to “Interfax”, Greece receives natural gas from Bulgaria, Turkey, and also in the form of LNG via Revithoussa LNG terminal DESFA company. Through Bulgaria to Greece receives Russian gas supply via the gas pipeline “Turkish stream”.
In “Gazprom export” the publication reported that are aware of the situation. The company is waiting for the Bulgarian side information about the timing of completion of repairs.
