Astana won the virtual race Giro d’italia-2020
Saturday, may 9, the Kazakh team “Astana Pro team” has successfully completed its statement on the first virtual stage race “Giro d’italia-2020”, won a final victory in the General classification.
After seven days of competitions held on the basis of the online platform “Giro” with volostnikov, on account of the racers “Astana Pro team” two stage victories, three second and three third places. The Kazakh team has traveled the distance all 7 stages, 12 hours, 23 minutes and 15 seconds.
In connection with the pandemic COVID-19 and the restrictions imposed in most countries of the world, the organizers of the “Giro d’italia” awaiting the resumption of real races decided to hold a virtual race in the period from 18 April to 9 may (each week was conducted in two stages, on Wednesday and Saturday). The results of the individual riders on each stage was in the overall team standings. In the virtual race route was included in the final segments of the real stages of the Italian Grand tour in 2020, which must be a distance stage race this fall. The virtual race kicked off in Tortoreto, and finished the individual race in Milan.
