15 years ago, Rafael Nadal won his first Roland Garros
Fifth of July 2005, 20-year-old Rafael Nadal for the first time in his career won the Open championship of France on tennis.
In the final match, the future king of clay defeated his compatriot Mariano Puerta with the score 6:7(6), 6:3, 6:1, 7:5. It was his first final of Grand slam tournaments.
Recall that since that time, Nadal had 12 victories in Paris, never losing in the finals. Just on account of his 19 victories on the Grand slam tournaments, only Roger Federer (20).
